VFA-41 has been tasked to attack the Arctic Aromas Lutefisk factory in the Norwegian town of Tana. Destroying the factory will relieve the suffering of the Norwegian towns people and have an adverse effect on the supply of food to the Soviet troops.

The primary target of six buildings compromising the bulk of the factory is on the outskirts of the town of Tana, so laser-guided munitions must be utilized to minimize damage to the surrounding community. Destroying the Tana river bridge as a secondary target will limit freedom of movement of Soviet vehicles by forcing them to detour many miles further south to reinforce their coastal positions.

The Black Aces departed U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln at approximately 0800L in three flights with Dealer 3 launching first followed by Dealer's 1 and 2 respectively. Dealer 3 consisted of two Hornets and one Tomcat loaded in an A/A configuration in order to escort and provide TARCAP protection to the strike package (Dealers 1 and 2). Dealer's 1 and 2 were loaded out with 2 GBU-16s and 2 wing tanks. Dealer 1 succesfully destroyed the bridge and buildings located and WP's 4 and 5. Dealer 2 successfully destroyed the buildings loacated at WP's 6,7,8, and 9. Dealer 3 patrolled the target area (WP4) and beyond, destroying an enemy refueling tanker and Mig 31 that flew within the TARCAP area.

All flights egressed via WP's 10 and 11 back to Mother, with some elements tanking enroute, and succussfully recovered. One aircraft had a DCS time out on final. Mission Succesfull.
