Entering coordinates for JDAMs

Post by Trim » Thu Apr 11, 2019 9:13 pm

You may have noticed when entering coordinates for JDAMs into the UFC that it lists the coordinates on the MSN page as DDMMSS.ss but there isn't a way to input the .ss
Oh but there is, it just isn't very clear. After entering the DDMMSS part, hit ENT then enter the .ss part then hit ENT again.

In order to be precise you need to enter the hundredths of arc seconds of the target. Unfortunately, the F10 map does not give the hundredths, at least not yet.
As far as figuring out what the .ss part is. for now, I'll just say estimate it using the F10 map. I'll possibly write something up with pictures or something later. but hopefully they will change the map soon anyway to include them. Also hopefully, they will add the data card soon and this all becomes a moot point.

Even when the data card is implemented, though, the mission builder will still need a way to acquire the decimal seconds for targets from the ME map. :1undecided:
