Real VFA-41 in Gulf Region

Post by Hedgehog » Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:43 pm

Some images posted on the real VFA-41 Facebook page today of the squadron aboard Stennis transiting the Suez Canal. I'm not sure the time frame of the photos.

So cool! I wish them well and thank them for their service. The carrier group is certainly the first line of defense against the growing terrorist activities from the region.

I wonder why they are all wearing float coats and cranials. Unless things have changed, they are normally only worn during flight ops. They certainly weren't doing flight ops while in the Suez.

Got me... we almost never wore float coats or cranials on the sub!

Of course, on Shadow's boat it was more like this:

OK, I had hoped this photo would not surface. But since it has, I will respond. That looks like me and the cook discussing some missing salami. I have no idea why they always questioned me first.

Found your salami.

I'm a little bit concerned and yet oddly intrigued as to why there appears to be an electric cord on that particular salami. But it sure seems to be making her smile, in any case.
