[Refly of mission with toned down anti-air.]
Flight ingressed NOE when feet dry. Flight encountered expected SA-10. 1-1 launched a HARM at the Clam Shell radar, 1-2 launched on the SA-10 emitter. No effect. 1-2 was shot down by the SA-10 despite valiant evasive maneuvers, expending all chaff, and ECM on XMIT.
1-1 continued to the target area and was engaged by nearby SA-6, which he dispatched with a HARM. Unable to get a good lock on the AAA with MAV-F, radio indicated HVT was escaping in a helicopter. 1-1 visually acquired the helicopter, but it was invisible to radar and had no IR signature for AIM-9 lock. 1-1 attacked the helicopter with guns and was hit by AAA. His aircraft was heavily damaged and he ejected. The helicopter got away.
By that time, the people at the compound recognized him as a repeat visitor, offered him a free bottle of water and bonus reward points for his stay.
