VFA-41 Black Aces re-flew a night mission from Operation Noble Tempest. The tasking was to launch AGM-84 SLAM-ER's on a Russian airbase where a pair of A-50 AWACS aircraft were parked on the ramp. Flights launched Case 3 and remained below 5,000 feet until waypoint 2 to remain undetected as long as possible. Once climbing up to altitude to launch missiles, each aircraft was assigned a different altitude block to deconflict and avoid mid air collisions while providing terminal missile guidance. Upon launching missiles, most pilots were able to guide their missiles to the target airfield, but discriminating which aircraft were which on the ramp proved more difficult than expected. As a result, the primary targets (A-50) were not struck, however several Su-24 bombers were destroyed. A couple missiles either didn't guide or were not properly set up and simple flew to the target waypoint, detonating some of the air bases fuel storage. After all guidance was complete, both flights returned to the ship and recovered Case 3 with minimal issues.
