30 July 2023 - Operation Enduring Resolve, Week 6

Post by MrBean » Thu Aug 03, 2023 1:29 am

Two flights of VFA-41 Hornets took part in another OER mission the other evening, operating against Syrian and Insurgent forces in eastern Syria.

Five aircraft launched at night off of the carrier and proceeded to pre-briefed operation areas. Both flights of DEALER aircraft were subsequently tasked to locate and prosecute two separate groups of insurgents amassing trucks and armor before their next push into friendly Syrian territory.

The US jets expended all of their laser and gps guided bombs on enemy targets, destroying a sizeable number of insurgent vehicles.

Although Chinese aircraft were also operating in the region, they kept their distance and posed no threat or disruption to coalition aircraft operating in the area.

All five DEALER jets returned to the carrier around 22:00 for an uneventful recovery.

DEALER 1
Mr. Bean - Ground targets, trapped
Crash - Ground targets, trapped
Lion - Ground targets, trapped

DEALER 2
Hedgehog - Ground targets, trapped

I forgot to mention in debrief that I failed to call in to mother 'commencing' for Case III, so I didn't get any flight deck lights. Got the trap but it wasn't fun.
