23 October, 2022 - Operation Noble Tempest Week 3

[Hedgehog]

VFA-41 was tasked with battlefield interdiction objectives to locate and eliminate short range anti-air defenses and artillery batteries, as well as escorting a pair of C-17 cargo jets safely out of the region. Dealer 3 was assigned the escort duties while Dealer 1 and Dealer 2 scoured the AO for ground targets.

Dealer 1
1 - Hedgehog: SAM x1, AAA x1, Truck x1, Armor x1, Su-25 x1, shot down by MANPAD
2 - Maniac: AAA x1, shot down by MANPAD
3 - Lion: SAM x3, Armor x1, Mi-8 x1, Truck x3, shot down by MANPAD

Dealer 2
1 - Chaos: Armor x1, shot down by Su-25
2 - Mad Dog: AAA x3, VR failure
3 - Trim: AAA x5, Truck x3, Mi-8 x1

Dealer 3
1 - Rhino: SU-27 x1, Truck x2, AAA x1, Armor x1, Mi-24 x1
2 - Dirty Dan: Truck x4, Mi-8 x2, Su-27 x1
3 - Crash: shot down by SU-27

Mission objectives were met, but, again, at a heavy toll of squadron aircraft.

I show that all of primary SHORAD sams were destroyed as well as both batteries of MLRS artillery (2 SMERCH, 6 Grad). The battery of 2S3 self propelled artillery was the only primary target not destroyed.

Dirty Dan got the other Su-27.
