26 SEP 2021 Gauntlet-24

This entire offensive's forward momentum, like any landing, is totally dependent on its supply lines, and currently there is a group of freighters passing back and forth from Bandar Abbas to Abu Dhabi. While Saudi and U.A.E. military forces combat the Iranians on the land, our goal will be to sever the Iranian supply line, then to attack the force directly.

PRIMARY TASKING
The Iranians are currently flying an all-time high number of aircraft sorties trying to maintain air-superiority over their invasion force and its supply lines. Before we can fly in and start hitting ground targets we need to regain control of the air in this region. Working toward this goal, you will fly a fighter sweep and you need to fly out and start knocking down enemy aircraft. Take off and engage any Iranian aircraft that you can intercept. We are more interested in seeing fighter cover being destroyed, but don't pass up a chance to down an airborne cargo plane, if it's in range.
Fly the waypoints and return to mother at winchester or bingo.

SECONDARY TASKING
The newly operational SA-5 represents a significant threat to friendly forces in theater. If sufficient pilots are available, organize a flight to ingress and destroy at a minimum, the SQUARE PAIR tracking radar and TIN SHIELD search radar for the Bandar Abbas SA-5 site. If feasible, also destroy the launchers.

The SA-5 site is defended by a medium range SA-2 site next to it and will also need to be suppressed if this tasking is accepted. The Iranians will likely wait until target aircraft are within maximum probability of kill range before launching missiles, so either wild weasel tactics or nap of the earth ingress is recommended. Fortunately, both the SA-2 and SA-5 are older systems and are susceptible to both ADM-141 TALDs launched by F-14s and the F/A-18s self-protection jammer.

UPDATE: The SA-5 minimum altitude target engagement is 980 feet. Should be plenty of breathing room for a NOE ingress!

Tankers are airborne, but they will be limited to operating within protected airspace over Qatari territory.

Our E-2 Hawkeye will be airborne over Qatar and will advise you of any incoming threats.

Updated with route maps.

NOTE: SEAD flight WEASEL has a route that utilizes terrain masking to attack the SA-5/SA-2 sites. Waypoint 5 is directly on top of the SA-5 site radars and placed at surface altitude. Waypoint 6 and proceeding will follow an egress north and west in between the mountains and valleys back toward the coast.

updated with WX and kneeboards
all flights will see both kneeboards because DCS doesn't allow group-specific kneeboards
