16 JAN 2020 Jask Attack

Post by Lion » Thu Jan 16, 2020 3:53 pm

TIME: JAN 16, 2020, 0822L TAKEOFF
WEATHER: Clear, 8 kts from the NNW, moderate to intense low level turbulence, contrails @ FL280
LOCATION: UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

SITUATION:
CSG-3 squadrons at Al Dhafra AB have been attriting Iranian air defences and assorted forces. The strike group is estimated to return to the area of operations next week, and the anti-ship batteries and surrounding assets are top priority.

MISSION:
VFA-41 flights have been tasked with 3 possible areas of objectives for tonight's mission:

SEAD: search and suppress any hostile radars that light up the target area in and around Bandar-E-Jask. The known SA-2 site there may not have active emissions until the crew thinks they can take a good shot, so be wary.

RECON: Fly an F/A-18 or F-14B at 500 ft AGL or less at WP5 through the area to generate expanded information about forces and defences in the area for Sunday's mission. Recovery of recon aircraft is necessary for results!

STRATEGIC STRIKE: The Abu Musa Missile R&D facility has been designated for this mission. This facility is responsible for suspected chemical weapons production in addition to conventional anti-ship and surface-to-surface missiles. Elimination of this facility will seriously degrade Iran's ability to replace their Silkworm batteries.

- NOTE: F/A-18 aircraft waypoints 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 have all been assigned to the buildings for GPS weapon delivery, if so desired. Waypoints 1 through 9 are for the mission against Bandar-e-Jask SEAD and Recon.

- NOTE: F-14B waypoint 4 = IP, waypoint 5 = surface target @ Bandar-e-Jask, waypoint 6 = hostile area point @ Abu Musa.

SEAD targets - SA-2, any additional radars in the area of Bandar-e-Jask.

RECON targets - Bandar-e-Jask target area.

STRATEGIC targets - Abu Musa Missile R&D.

On-call fighter escort assistance from AL DHAFRA AB will be available to each DEALER division, from the F10 menu.

AIR THREATS: F-4 Phantoms, Mirage F-1 (M-2000C used as stand-in aircraft), F-5 Tigers, F-14 Tomcats.
GROUND THREATS: SA-2 (Bandar-e-Jask), SA-6 (Abu Musa), ZSU-23, infantry small arms in the area.
ROE: Weapons Free against aircraft, ground threats in the target areas and home base.
There are multiple flights of allied aircraft operating today performing their own CAP and CAS missions, so A2A munitions should be conserved for mission critical areas.
