17 August 2025 - Kola Week 11 - Typhoon

Post by Lion » Sun Aug 10, 2025 10:30 pm

SITUATION
With the DEAD mission completed in our last mission, SAM threats in and around Polyarny have been neutralized. Remaining long-range SAM coverage is concentrated further south near Murmansk International Airport and is not expected to affect strike operations in the port area.

The Red Russian Typhoon-class SSBNs are berthed in hardened pens and piers at Polyarny. These assets must be destroyed before they can sortie and pose a strategic threat to NATO.

MISSION OBJECTIVE
Launch from CVN-72 Abraham Lincoln and proceed to Polyarny for precision strikes on assigned DMPI targets.
  • F/A-18C “Dealer” flights will execute precision strikes on designated submarine positions:
    1. DMPI 1 – Waypoint 4
    2. DMPI 2 – Waypoint 5
    3. DMPI 3 – Waypoint 6
    4. DMPI 4 – Waypoint 7
    5. DMPI 5 – Waypoint 8
    6. DMPI 6 – Waypoint 9
    7. DMPI 7 – Waypoint 10
    8. DMPI 8 – Waypoint 11
  • (AI) F-14B “Tomcats” will provide CAP over the target area to deter or destroy any opportunistic air threats.
THREATS
  • Minimal IADS presence in Polyarny proper.
  • Potential interceptors from Severomorsk-3 if alerted.
  • AAA and MANPADS coverage close to target.
WEATHER
  • QNH: 29.6 inHg
  • Winds:
    - 26,000 ft: 49 kts from 270° (blowing to 090°)
    - 6,600 ft: 24 kts from 273° (blowing to 093°)
    - 1,600 ft: 23 kts from 229° (blowing to 049°)
    - 33 ft: 11 kts from 229° (blowing to 049°)
  • Turbulence/Winds gusting: 1.6 kts
  • Start time: 23:00 local
  • Sunrise: 04:50 local
ROE / NOTES
  • Positive ID on all targets before weapons release.
  • DMPI assignments are waypoint-linked and set to surface elevation in your flight plan for accuracy.
  • An additional two S-3B Tankers will be launched to support night-time CASE III recovery operations, operating at 2200, 2600, and 3200 ft respectively to deconflict the airspace.
  • Strike effectiveness will directly impact follow-on operations.
PRIMARY TASKING
Destroy all Typhoon SSBNs and associated support vessels in Polyarny.
