08 June 2025 - Kola Week 4 - Blockade Monitor

Post by Lion » Sun Jun 01, 2025 11:12 pm

SITUATION
Search for and visually identify ships attempting to run the blockade out of Murmansk. To keep the Red Russians from supporting forces elsewhere and to keep a portion of the Red Banner fleet in port, we have been tasked to enforce a blockade of all ships attempting to exit the Murmansk fjord.

DETAILED MISSION OBJECTIVE
Surface search and E-2C radar controllers have detected surface contacts departing the port of Murmansk and heading north. Identify these contacts, but do not destroy them.

S-3B Viking flights will also be assisting in identifying blockade-runners. Be careful not to engage these aircraft.

The Red Russians are attempting disperse munitions and other military logistics from Murmansk to units outside the Kola Peninsula. Because Murmansk is the largest logistics center in the Kola region, the National Security Council has placed the ports and airfields of the city under military-blockade. It is the NSC's intention to prevent the re-supply of Red Russian forces engaged against Blue Russian forces in Archangel and St. Petersburg districts.

THREATS
The peninsular island northwest of the Murmansk river is currently hosting three SA-2 sites positioned along the coast. These sites will need to be suppressed in whichever fashion the Mission Commander deems fit in order for the rest of the package to have a safe flight.
Possible SA-6 SAM activity has been detected on an island northeast of the Murmansk river mouth.

Along the coasts of the river and inlets may be groups of shore based AAA and short range SAMs such as SA-19 Tunguskas.

Russian CAP flights have significantly decreased since the previous mission's events, however intelligence analyses that Red Russian airbases may instead put flights on quick alert reaction instead if NATO aircraft are detected nearby.
