19 November 2023 - Operation Enduring Resolve Week 19

Post by Lion » Sun Nov 19, 2023 3:58 pm

Date: 19 November 2023
Time: 1400 local
Sunset: 1724 local
Task: Escort, CAP, Strike

Situation
Amidst a challenging weather scenario, our operations must ensure the security of diplomatic engagements and maintain air superiority over hostile elements.

Weather Conditions
  • Temperature: 19°C
  • Clouds: Thunderstorm conditions, with cloud base at 4921 feet and thickness of 6562 feet.
  • Visibility: Potentially reduced due to thunderstorm activity.
  • QNH: 29.7 inHg
  • Winds:
    • At 26000 ft: 80 kts from 61°
    • At 6600 ft: 29 kts from 90°
    • At 1600 ft: 47 kts from 102°
    • At 33 ft: 22 kts from 102°
  • Turbulence: Moderate turbulence reported at level 29.
  • Ice Halo: None observed.
Dealer One
Mission: Escort
Task: Escort a US State Department C-32 from near Turkey to King Hussein Air College, Jordan, navigating through challenging weather conditions.

The C-32 757 jet will be escorted by a flight of 4 Turkish F-16s until a point 160 nm south of Turkey, and 150 west-northwest of the carrier group. Form up with the jet and provide escort all the way until the Syrian-Jordanian border, where you will be released to refuel if necessary and RTB.

Dealer 1's waypoints mirror that of the HVA from form-up to release (waypoints 1 to 7). HVA ETA to Dealer 1 WP1 is 1421; ETA to Dealer 1 WP2 is 1429
The release point will be marked off by a racetrack orbit of 4x Royal Jordanian Air Force Mirage F1 jets.

ROE: WEAPONS TIGHT - launch authorization granted only on visual weapons fire from Chinese forces or missile launch indication from own RWR.

Dealer Two
Mission: Combat Air Patrol (CAP)
Task: Fly a CAP along a known international airliner route, ensuring the safety of civilian aircraft against attempted intercepts, with potential weather interference.

China's attempt last week to practically abduct a political dissident off an international flight has sparked global outrage and concern over their behavior. The US and other countries involved in operations over Syria have provided guarantees that they will ensure freedom of navigation through international airspace for airliners, and thusly Dealer 2 has been assigned this afternoon's patrol. Fly the waypoints marked on HSI and on (coming) map until released by AWACS or 1545 local, whichever comes first.

ROE: WEAPONS TIGHT - launch authorization granted only on visual weapons fire from Chinese forces or missile launch indication from own RWR.

Dealer Three
Mission: Strike
Task: Engage in precision strike operations against fixed ISIS targets in the Al Tanf area, with additional weather-related flight hazards.

Due to inclement weather, our typical missionset is waylaid today. Therefore mission planners have assigned Dealer 3 a set of GPS coordinates that needs warheads dropped on it, reportedly containing a potential stash of S-200 / SA-5 missiles that are due to be refurbished by ISIS.

ROE: WEAPONS FREE - only on provided strike coordinates. TIGHT for any confrontations with Chinese forces as indicated with other flights.

Flight Duration
Dealer 1 - 675 nm route
Dealer 2 - 320 nm route, patrol time until 1545/AWACS release
Dealer 3 - 520 nm round-trip.

Dealer 1 - 4x F/A-18C
Dealer 2 - 4x F/A-18C
Dealer 3 - 4x F/A-18C
12x F-14B

Mission Notes
Pilots are advised to exercise caution given the meteorological conditions. Flight paths may require adjustments to account for wind and turbulence, especially during low-altitude operations and during the escort phase amidst thunderstorm activity. All flight crews should prepare for variable and challenging conditions.

Updated note: No SA-11 emissions have been detected in two weeks from Syria, the mandatory HARM requirement is cleared from mission aircraft
