Not much has changed in the region from last week, although ISIS continues to suffer defeats and territorial loss in the north and south of Syria.
The Air Force has deployed additional CAP flights near the coast to draw off cowboy Chinese pilots from harassing ingressing Coalition flights, although the Chinese have officially communicated that from now on, they will be enforcing a military exclusion zone above their leased base at Bassel Al-Assad. The current zone extends in a circle 15 nautical miles around the base, so Dealer flights will be routed away from it.
If your flights violate that airspace, expect to be intercepted by Chinese fighters and guided away.
MISSION
Dealer flights will fly a A2G combat air patrol throughout Syria, starting a half hour before sunrise.. Each Dealer flight has a different flight plan, covering north, central, and eastern Syria, with area overlap between flights to ensure good coverage.
Mission Commander and Flight Leaders should expect to be called over tactical frequencies for targets of opportunity throughout the patrol. RTB criteria is fuel emergency or winchester.
Syrian airspace is light at this time, expected to be more busy as the Sun rises.
Refueling tankers are spread across the region, there should be no problem getting a top-up if needed.
THREATS
- MANPADs everywhere that friendly forces do not control.
- Possible harassment and unprofessional airmanship from Chinese fighters.
ROE
WEAPONS FREE (on assigned targets). It is highly likely that given targets will be in dense urban areas. Carrying a FLIR pod is mandatory and verification needed to ensure civilian areas are not struck.
