Coalition forces have obliterated organized Assad regime military forces (brown territory) from Damascus and the surrounding area, though several hundred cells armed with SA-18 Igla MANPADs have dispersed into the city and suburbs. Far western Iraq, Israeli territory, and the airport of Beirut, plus Cyprus and Turkey are available for friendly aircraft operations.

Govt forces still control the swath of ridges bordering Lebanon and up to Homs, with fighting between regime forces and the guys who we used to arm early in the war but are now more extreme and hostile to everyone (orange territory). This area is mainly where Chinese (red blob) forces are conducting strikes.

Western aligned mercs remain in control of Tiyas and the settlements in it can be considered safe for low-flying maneuvers, as well as friendly rebel groups in the south of Syria (light green), the MANPAD threat there is zero

MISSION

Dealer flights will fly an A2G combat air patrol throughout Syria. Each Dealer flight has a different flight plan, covering north, central, and eastern Syria, with area overlap between flights to ensure good coverage.

Mission Commander and Flight Leaders should expect to be called over tactical frequencies for targets of opportunity throughout the patrol. RTB criteria is fuel emergency or winchester.

Syrian airspace remains quite busy at this time of day, with Coalition and Chinese expeditionary forces conducting a variety of missions across the region.

Refueling tankers are spread across the region, there should be no problem getting a top-up if needed.

THREATS

The primary threat during this mission is the presence of MANPADS pretty much every where across all of Syria.

While we are a part of a broad international coalition in the mission area, there is a sizeable Chinese expeditionary force currently subleasing Khmeimim Air Base from the Russians, who are unable to use it due to geopolitical reasons. These Chinese forces are also participating in their own separate bombing campaign of militants in Syria. Keep vigilant and avoid any international incidents with the Chinese aircraft. They will not display as friendly or hostile on datalinks.

ROE

WEAPONS FREE (on assigned targets). It is highly likely that given targets will be in dense urban areas. Carrying a FLIR pod is mandatory and verification needed to ensure civilian areas are not struck.
