Level of detail

Sometimes the level of detail in DCS leaves you in awe... flying the other day with Dirty Dan, I was watching his plane from external view while he was trapping. At first I thought there was some dust on my screen, but realized it was on his plane. With his tailhook extended, what appears to be a safety pin lanyard or something hanging down. I suppose it would be a small stainless steel braided wire with a loop on the end.

So somebody at Eagle Dynamics saw it visible on a picture of a Hornet and modeled it into the sim. Impressive.

Now if they would apply that same level of detail to something functional, like the ECM system...
