 NATO's military activity responding to Red Russian aggression in the Kola Peninsula has been named 'Operation Northern Cape.' In action in support of the operation, US Navy jets flew recon missions to evaluate the presence and strength of Red Russian assets in place. The presence of a number of Tu-22 'Backfire' bombers capable of launching long-range anti-ship missiles has the US carrier battle group on high alert. A Pentagon official confirmed the loss of several US Navy fighters in an unprovoked attack, while some Red Russian MiG fighters were also reported shot down. Additional details were released HERE.
