VFA-41 Pilots Conduct Training Exercises

Following completion of the squadron's 8-month deployment in support of Operation Persian Gauntlet, the Black Aces of VFA-41 conducted a set of range training exercises designed to keep their skills sharp and to learn some new techniques.  Details of the exercises were published in this report.  While no official orders have been received, there is an expectation that, with things heating up between Syria and Turkey, the squadron could face another lengthy deployment in the not-too-distant future.

Black Ace Promoted

Having met or exceeded the squadron's prescribed advancement requirements, including qualification as Mission Commander, Mr. Bean has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) in Strike Fighter Squadron Four One.  Congrats!

Pentagon Announces Withdrawal of Forces Citing Completion of Operation Persian Gauntlet

The Black Aces are headed for some well-deserved R&R (and maybe a little inter-deployment training) following the completion of their deployment in support of Operation Persian Gauntlet, which began in March, 2021 and comprised 31 combat missions.  VFA-41 pilots who participated in at least 50% of the operation's missions have been awarded the associated campaign ribbon, shown here.
