In other words, always go at least 16 degrees trim on the carrier!

I believe that is true as well, however, IRL I don't think I ever saw a jet launch from the cat without being in AB.

I believe the 12 degrees the t/o trim button gives you is good for any runway takeoff

I believe the chart is for ground and ship. Ive tried taking off before with no trim set higher than 12 and blown tires out. Test it though

I have taken off from land every time with trim set to 12. Never had an issue.

Even with max weight? And are you pulling on the stick?

Not sure on the weight. No I just let it fly itself off the deck.

At full bomb load on runway start I usually have to set it to about 19 degrees trim for it to rotate at 200 kts. Otherwise I have had tires blown out and have to pull the stick manually.
