Details, details?

I'm getting kinda discouraged at the direction ED is going with DCS. While I appreciate the goal of realism, to a reasonable extent, we fly in the SIM world and it needs to make sense in terms of playability in that world.

For instance, the latest mega-patch for DCS includes some updates to the F/A-18. But the updates are only meaningful to the rivet counters... actual Hornet pilots or people with an in-depth knowledge of the intricate details of each system. Like, "Radar enters wrong scan patterns in TWS after exiting STT." How would anybody know this unless you had experience with the real jet and real radar? And how/why do I care as a sim pilot?

Complex weapon fusing? Really?? As long as it goes BOOM when I drop it, that's all I care about!

Meanwhile, things that DO affect me as a sim pilot, like the RWR system still doesn't work right in multi-player, will probably never be fixed.

And the F4U Corsair is still no closer to release because they are working on modeling historically accurate tire tread patterns?? WHO THE FUCK CARES?!

More attention to playability and less to trivial details would be good. :1tongue:
