VFA-41 was tasked with destroying the entrance and air handling facilities of an Iranian uranium enrichment facility.
Three flights were send to complete the objective. Dealer 1 was Strike, Dealer 2 was SEAD/CAP, Dealer 3 was CAP.
Dealer 2 and 3 launched together and ingressed along what would later be the egress route. Their task was to clear the area of any airborne threats that may already be in the air or that might launch from nearby Shiraz international AP. Also, Dealer 2 was to suppress the SAM site located at the target area.
Dealer 1 delayed launch in order to give the other flights time to reach the target area. Dealer 1 was to then ingress via a southern route NoE to avoid detection. Once, clear of the SAM-10 they would then climb to launch JDAMs at each of the primary targets.
Dealer 2 and 3 were both able to get to the target area and eliminate airborne threats as well as the SAM site prior to Dealer 1 arriving at the target location.
Dealer one lost one aircraft on ingress due to controlled flight into terrain. Due to an ordnance loading issue, this left them with only two JDAMs. Dealer one was able to destroy two of the four primary targets.
Mission partial success.
