VFA-41 returned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in preparation for the squadron's next deployment. Having spent a couple of months working from Nellis Air Force Base for an inter-deployment training cycle, carrier re-qual was the order of the day (and night). Pilots completed sets of touch & go approaches for both Case I and case III recoveries before trapping and parking their jets for the ride to the next op area. All qualified pilots requalified, although landing gear damage from hard touches forced a couple to return to Andersen AFB for repairs. Non-qual pilots got some valuable experience and instruction in squadron recovery procedures.
