Two sections of VFA-41 Hornets took part in a training exercise in the Persian Gulf region on Sunday.
The four jets departed Al Minhad Airbase and attacked preplanned targets near Bandaranaike Jask, Iran using AGM-154c stand-off weapons.
Upon completion of the simulated attack on Iranian targets, the jets turned south and were given grid coordinates for various ground targets within UAE. Black Ace pilots practiced gps and laser-guided bomb drops on their assigned targets before hitting the tanker on their way back to base.
All aircraft recovered (mostly) uneventfully at Minhad, save for one aircraft that did a little sightseeing along the side of the runway.
The Black Aces are currently in a brief stand-down and training period before embarking on their next deployment.
