23 Jan 2022 - Damascus Dawn Week 6

VFA-41 was tasked to conduct a night offensive counter-air strike against Hatay airport, currently held by Syrian forces.

The mission was conducted in 3 flights.

Dealer 1: Primary objective; bomb the runway to put the airport out of commission. Also SEAD as needed.
1 - Hedgehog: gnd tgts hit, trapped.
2 - Trim: gnd tgts hit, trapped.

Dealer 2: CAP and decoys
1 - Lion: trapped.
2 - Nocs: trapped.
3 - Rhino: landed at divert.

Dealer 3: Secondary objective; destroy aircraft and military targets on the ground.
1 - Ticman: gnd tgts hit, trapped.
2 - Chaos: gnd tgts hit, trapped.
3 - Maniac: gnd tgts hit, trapped.
4 - Iceberg: gnd tgts hit, recovered.

Flights met with minimal resistance. Air threats were dealt with by USAF F-15s from Incerlik air base. Runway was hit with 4x 2000lb JDAM penetrators, ensuring BIG craters. Many aircraft and other assets on the ground were destroyed.
