TIME: Dec 13, 2020, 1600L launch.
WEATHER: Semi-Cloudy, dusty haze, surface wind SW @ 18,
aloft West @ 35
QNH 29.92
LOCATION: Black Sea

MISSION:
Flights of the VFA-41 Black Aces will launch and over take the Yak-40s before they can reach TBILISI and kill hundreds of civilians. Dealer 1 is assigned a southern route and Dealer 2 is assigned a northern route. At best speed, Dealer 1 and Dealer 2 should be able to target and launch
A2A weapons on the jets before they get over the populated city area. Dealer 1 and Dealer 2 flight paths are the best estimates of terrorists intended flight paths. Dealer 3 is ordered to provide a CAP over flight in the event hostile fighters intervene.
An E-2D AWACS is scrambling from Batumi AP, ETA 20 minutes. ROE: Weapons Free on hostile aircraft per standing orders.

SITUATION:
Two Yak-40 passenger jets have been hi-jacked from the Sukhumi-Babushara AP in Abkhazia. The Yak-40s are in service with the Russian National Airlines and the hi-jackers are known to be members of a radical splinter group from Abkhazia. Neither jet has civilian passengers onboard but may have been loaded with explosives before taking off. The hi-jackers posted a manifesto and demand the release of all political prisoners from Georgia jails. If the demands are not met, the jets will be crashed into high population centers in TBILISI, GEORGIA. At the Yak-40 top speed of 308 kph, it is a 40 minute flight to Tbilisi. The two jets have separated, one taking a northern route and one a southern route. The Russian consulate has been asked to order a Russian military response to stop the Yak-40s and the request is being routed through 'proper' diplomatic channels.
Georgia officials are grounding all civilian air traffic until the situation is resolved. Three west bound commuter flights are still airborne and in route to the nearest airports.
Only the CVN-71 Roosevelt can launch fighters quick enough to catch the terrorists.
