TIME: SEP 20, 2020, 1000L launch.
WEATHER: Rain-Thunderstorms, Surface wind NW @ 16,
South aloft @ 24, Heavy cloud ceiling @ 3500.
QNH 29.92
Surface visibility 3 nm.
LOCATION: Black Sea

MISSION:
Flights of the VFA-41 Black Aces will launch and fly a patrol mission along the Russia / Georgia border. Separate the flights by 40 nm or more so the prominence of the CAP flight is fully realized by the separatists/rebels and their benefactor to the north. ROE: Weapon HOLD unless fired upon OR a fighter aircraft displays clear hostile intent and crosses the border into Georgian air space. Flight path ~495 nm

SITUATION:
Russian aircraft are encroaching south of the border into Georgia as they fly patrols along the border. Command is ordering CAP border patrols to encourage the Russian aircraft to honor sovereign Georgia air space. Diplomatic requests have been extended through proper channels but the encroachment continues. Fighter aircraft of Russian design are shadowing and harassing civilian air traffic. The Russian Air Force spokesperson stresses the pilots and aircraft in question are not under the command of the Russian Air Force. Abkhazia military spokespersons insist no harassment is happening by Abkhazia pilots and all Abkhazia Air Force training flights are off shore. Abkhazia has deployed a second SA-2 Fan Song SAM. The INTEL weenies believe newly trained Abkhazia pilots are flying training sorties over the Black Sea but ingress landward on long finals and may be encountering civilian traffic. Due to the adverse weather conditions, the VFA-41 has been assigned this mission because they are considered the best available.

14 SEP 2020, NEWS BRIEF

Post by Shadow » Mon Sep 14, 2020 4:34 pm

NEWS FLASH:
The Security Council of Russia has announced an investigation into the loss of two helicopters near the Georgia border. A military conflict involving as many as eight American fighter aircraft was progressing in the immediate area. Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) is conducting the investigation and issued the warning: "If the investigation of this incident finds the loss of the helicopters was not accidental in nature, Russia will have no choice but to take steps to ensure the safety of our populace and the sovereignty of the Motherland. The ridiculous conflict being instigated in Georgia is not of interest to Russia, unless forced to defend ourselves."
The two unarmed SAR helicopters based at Vladikavkaz International Airport were lost while searching for distressed boaters on the Terek River. The wreckage of one helicopter has been located 12 km north of the Georgia/Russia border. The search continues for the second. No survivors are expected to be found.
