SITUATION:
The Marines have landed!
While strike operations were busy obliterating infrastructure and critical military sites across southern Iran, Coalition forces assembled amphibious groups, including the United States Marine Corps' 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, encompassing a vast array of battle-hardened firepower.
In the initial stages of the 4th phase of Operation TOMB FIST, Coalition forces have seized the 'Red' Iranian held fortress islands of Sirri Island, Greater Tunb Island, and Tunb Island, and secured their airfields as forward operating bases for the main invasion of the hostile Iranian coastline.
Though 'Red' IRGC forces have been severely depleted over the course of the campaign, they continue to have seemingly limitless amounts of short-range MANPADs and ZSU-23 anti-aircraft artillery and ammunition, and have been observed dispersing their soldiers into every major city and town in order to resist the invasion at every possible turn.
MISSION:
VFA-41 flights will launch on a strike mission.
Friendly troops have come ashore nearby Bandar Abbas International Airport and the city amid heavy fighting. Intel has come down with reports that the IRGC is massing forces for a counterattack at a military base approximately ten miles north of the city, assembling T-72 tanks, BMP-2 IFVs, SA-15 TORs and a host of infantry to go with them. Your primary target, located at waypoint two is this base and its assemblage of military hardware. Fortunately due to the ongoing air campaign, 'Red' Iranian forces are in peak combat fatigue, and will likely will not be manning their vehicles when you arrive.
Intel expects there will be a limited 10 to 20 minute window between when your first attacks hit the base and when the Iranians return fire.
Covert HUMINT in the area reports there are at least five SA-15 vehicles parked in one of the lots close together, with tanks spread out among the weapon bunkers, as well as ZU-23 AAA and Rapier air defenses.
Destruction of as many fighting vehicles and mobile air defenses is top priority.
NOTE 2: Friendly HAWK and PATRIOT SAM sites have been deployed in Khasab, Sirri Island, Tunb Island AFB, and Tunb Kochak Island. Any deployment of anti-radiation weaponry at these islands will result in consequences for future missions.
