30 JAN 2020 Silkworm Second Strike

Post by Lion » Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:13 am

TIME: JAN 30, 2020, 0825L TAKEOFF
WEATHER: 5 kts from the W, light turbulence, clear.
LOCATION: OMANI EAST COAST

SITUATION:
Carrier Strike Group Three, with the USS John C. Stennis and accompanying escorts have returned to the Persian Gulf region after emergency resupply at Diego Garcia. All squadrons temporarily deployed to Al Dhafra have returned to the carrier group.

A second strike attempt on the Silkworm sites has been authorized. Mission failure again will result in the wasteful expenditure of Tomahawk cruise missiles against these sites.

MISSION:
VFA-41 Black Aces flights will launch on a strike mission against Iranian Silkworm anti-ship batteries on the east coast of Oman.

Top priority is the Silkworm radar, which extends the targeting range of the missiles from 12 nm (line of sight based) up to 55 nm out.
Silkworm radars will show up as a "U" on HARM targeting display in self-protect mode.

Destruction of the launchers as well is strongly preferred as well as it is likely Iran will simply redeploy any surviving launchers in fortified positions later down the line.

Spec ops teams on the ground are prepared to mark the target areas with white smoke. Contact via communications menu > F10. Other.

PRIMARY targets - Silkworm radars.

SECONDARY targets - Silkworm launchers.

- NOTE: The CSG only has small-capacity S-3B Tankers for a bit of extra fuel during recoveries.
The UAE has continued to authorize the release of external tanks and jet fuel, available at AL MINHAD AB (TACAN 99X) if needed.
