TIME: July 7, 2019 0900L launch.
WEATHER: Cloudy - 7500 ft base - Possible rain.
LOCATION: Persian Gulf
MISSION:
Two flights of the VFA-41 Black Aces will scramble to stop the attack on two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The tanker ships report being attacked by "war ships". The hostile ships may still be in the area as the attack occurred only 30 NM from Iranian ports. Patrol the area (WP3) while help for the damaged tankers ingresses. You will be notified when the rescue operation is under control and you can RTB. Engage and sink any enemy military ships in or egressing the immediate area. ROE: Weapons Free for enemy combat units.
Dealer 1 STRIKE/CAP will scramble and ingress at best speed.
Dealer2 STRIKE/CAP will launch second and ingress to provide Top Cover and additional resources to complete the mission.
SITUATION:
STRIKE will have to launch quickly and ingress at best speed to discover the hostile attack ship before it can reach the safety of the Iranian coastal defenses. If this was the work of the IRGC as INTEL suggests, a hostile fighter response should be expected. Iran Military Command is already denying any involvement in the attacks and claims to have evidence of a NATO and USA "conspiracy" to cast suspicion on the peaceful people of Iran.
