MISSION:
Two Flights of F/A-18Cs will launch and ingress to the target area (WP 5) and engage any hostile units attacking the cargo ship. If the speedboats withdraw, maintain a presence on station until it is evident the area is clear. If the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is behind these attacks, it is likely there will be an airborne response. ROE: Weapons Free for cargo ship attackers. ROE for TOO: Return fire if fired on.
SITUATION: Command just received an urgent radio message from a civilian cargo ship requesting assistance in the Strait of Hormuz. It is reportedly being attacked by armed speedboats and is in danger of being sunk. It is located at WP5.
