This week's mission while Hormuz Sentinel remains on holiday pause, takes place once again in Caucasus.
The task today is to strike multiple groups of Russian armor and ground vehicles moving to reinforce the town of Verhniy.
VFA-41 has been assigned a kill box centered on a line drawn from WP2 to WP3. All friendly ground forces are to the South/Southwest of WP2 - therefore any armor, artillery, or vehicles spotted between WP2 and WP3 are valid targets. The box extends on either side of the WP2-3 line, so targets may be found centered on the line, or offset to one side or the other.
The enemy-held town of Verhniy is located approximately 2/3 of the way towards WP3 and is known to have MANPADS, AAA, and possibly other mobile air defenses.
Therefore, DEALER 3 will be armed with HARM missiles, and Maverick-Fs. DEALER 3 should ingress the area first to sweep for any threat emitters and then orbit nearby, ready to engage any SAM or AAA threats that pop up.
DEALER 1 and DEALER 2 will be armed with a mix of Maverick F's and GBU-12 LGBs in order to destroy as many ground targets as able.
A flight of F-15's (UZI) will be providing high CAP during the operation, but no enemy air threat is expected.
Texaco, a KC-135 will be orbiting SW of WP 2 for tanking as needed. The LINCOLN is operating near the Georgian coast and the primary divert, Kobuleti, is only a 40-50 nm flight away from Mother, so no recovery tanker will be airborne.
Weather calls for high scattered clouds and light winds. This is a late afternoon mission and Case I launch and recovery are likely.
