Friendly rebel forces such as the Free Syrian Army and affiliated elements are attempting to expand their control outside of Damascus by launching a major attack on cultist forces holding Khalkalah airfield.
FSA took heavy losses assaulting the cultist airfield and are consolidating their forces in the area before they are able to mount any such attack again. On the bright side, the airfield is now controlled by friendly forces and the runway is available for divert use, if needed.- FSA forces of IFVs and armoured scout vehicles heavily outgun cultists which are armed lunatics with machineguns on technicals. Friendly air support requests are not expected for their mission.
Western aligned mercenaries and Coalition forces are still engaged in the Battle for Palmyra, taking on entrenched ISIS armored forces.
- ISIS forces in Palmyra are composed primarily of old Soviet T-55 and T-72 main battle tanks.
Do not come within 15 nm Bassel Al-Assad airbase.
MISSION
Each Dealer flight has a different pre-planned mission today.
Dealer One
Assigned to strike the Ebla natural gas treatment plant near Shayrat. Syrian govt forces are still in control of this facility and the continued usage of it is funding their war on the country. As this is a large complex filled with many buildings, aircraft should load up on as much high explosive power as possible. Any building within the complex is authorized for targeting.
It is not expected that the first flight will demolish the entire area in one attack.
VFA-41 should expect multiple missions against this target until it can no longer produce natural gas over a long period of time.
Dealer Two, Dealer Three
Coalition forces are intensifying airstrikes on Palmyra in order to dislodge the heavily entrenched ISIS forces there. Dealer two and Dealer three are both assigned to attack Palmyra today. Intel has indicated that ISIS forces have been moved slightly more northeast but are bunched up in alleyways, trees, and gates of homes to frustrate attackers. There is also a sizeable second line of defense at Palmyra airfield that can be attacked.
Friendly forces are concentrated in the southwest area of the city and will deploy green smoke on themselves to assist in target deconfliction. The town itself has largely been evacuated or abandoned by civilians so collateral damage on structures within the city is acceptable.
F-14s are available for support for each Dealer flight.
Refueling tankers are spread across the region, there should be no problem getting a top-up if needed.
THREATS
- MANPADs everywhere that friendly forces do not control.
- Possible harassment and unprofessional airmanship from Chinese fighters.
ROE
WEAPONS FREE (on assigned targets). It is highly likely that given targets will be in dense urban areas. Carrying a FLIR pod is mandatory and verification needed to ensure civilian areas are not struck.
