Prior to engaging in combat operations over Syria, CAG has ordered a familiarization flight for your squadron to get acquainted with the lay of the land, and the complex, frustrating, and sometimes confusing geopolitical factors at play.
MISSION
The primary objective of tonight's mission is to conduct an area familiarization flight through Syrian airspace, identifying key points of interest and geographical landmarks for future operations. Dealer flights 1-3 each have separate flight plans, but all flights pass through the same waypoints (with the exception of Dealer 3, that flies a slightly more express route). To receive the informational messages, please fly as close to the waypoints as possible.
Syrian airspace is very busy at this time of day, with Coalition and Chinese expeditionary forces conducting a variety of missions across the region. Stick to the assigned flight paths and do not deviate.
Mandatory altitude above Syria is at least 30,000 feet due to MANPADS threat and changing elevations. Highly recommended for division flight leaders to fly according to FPAS page for maximum range.
Refueling tankers are spread across the region, there should be no problem getting a top-up if needed.
THREATS
The primary threat during this mission is the presence of MANPADS pretty much every where across all of Syria. Stay at FPAS altitude above Syrian airspace.
While we are a part of a broad international coalition in the mission area, there is a sizeable Chinese expeditionary force currently subleasing Khmeimim Air Base from the Russians, who are unable to use it due to geopolitical reasons. These Chinese forces are also participating in their own separate bombing campaign of militants in Syria. Keep vigilant and avoid any international incidents with the Chinese aircraft. They will not display as friendly or hostile on datalinks.

YELLOW - WEAPONS TIGHT. This is an area familiarization flight. Weapon release is only authorized in the extremely unlikely case a Chinese warplane fires a missile or guns at your aircraft.
