12 MAR 2023 - DCS multithreading / big patch / next campaign test run #3

SITUATION

The USS George Washington has been operating in the Eastern Mediterranean, conducting strikes against remnant government and insurgent forces in Syria. Coalition airstrikes are ongoing and proceed around the clock.

MISSION

VFA-41 is launching on a battlefield strike patrol with a flexible mix of air to ground munitions to be able to respond to on-call tasking from the strike controller, OVERLORD.

The flight will take off from the USS George Washington and fly to a pre-planned holding point in safe, controlled airspace above the city of Beirut. From there, the flight will await transmission from OVERLORD and proceed to prosecute the mission as directed.

THREATS

The primary threat in the area is from man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS). Intelligence sources suggest that these systems are concentrated in nearly every urban settlement in Syria. Therefore, a hard deck of 12,000 feet plus stated elevation of the target area is in effect. Countermeasure systems should be set up for heavy and pre-emptive usage of flares.

ROE

Weapons free. All pilots are authorized to engage any enemy targets in the area. However, pilots should exercise caution to avoid civilian casualties and minimize collateral damage.

WX
The mission takes place in daytime, the weather is clear.
