USS John C. Stennis - Black Sea
VFA-41 Black Aces
DATE: JANUARY 20, 2019
LOCAL TIME: 0830
WEATHER: Cloudy
ROE: RED AND FREE
BACKGROUND
After Russia completed its invasion and illegal occupation of Georgia, intelligence reports have come in showing deployment of a new S-300 (SA-10) battery near Kulashi city.
Before the U.S. and NATO can launch its own counter-invasion to liberate Georgia, this battery must be destroyed.
The VFA-41 Black Aces have been assigned this mission.
TACAN:
STENNIS, 74X (ICLS 14), 299.00
TRUMAN, 75X, 299.00
TARAWA: 1X (ICLS 10), 299.00
BRC: 337
AWACS: 366.00
TANKER: 250.00, 25X
TASKING:
Lead a flight of F/A-18Cs and AV-8Bs to destroy an SA-10 battery located nearby Kutaisi airfield.
Russian SAM operators in past strike missions have been known to turn off their radars when HARM shots are called out, so an extremely low level ingress (maximum 75 AGL) with AGM-65F Mavericks are required.
Presently it is estimated that Russia has no other significantly built up forces in area, and Russian Air Force flights have been delayed in being forward deployed due to inclement weather.
This mission is considered BLUE WATER OPS as there are no friendly land based fields available for divert.
Primary objectives: SA-10 tracking and search radars.
Secondary objectives: SA-10 launchers.
Mission Commander status assigned to Weavin.
