SITUATION

Due to poor weather, a planned USAF strike against a Syrian Army supply base yesterday had to be called off

The target facility is located on the western edge of Aleppo and is rumored to contain large quantity of ammunition, spare parts and consumables required by Syrian forces defending the city.

MISSION

VFA-41 has received short-notice tasking to re-attempt a strike against the Aleppo supply depot, now that the weather has somewhat improved.

The facility contains multiple structures, but the ones of highest priority are a series of warehouses in the center of the compound, immediately adjacent to a large red and white comms antenna.

Weather is still overcast, making visual target acquisition for high level bombing impossible. Accordingly, this will require a low-level ingress to escape radar and visual detection by the numerous AAA sites that surround the target.

All flights are to remain below 1000’ AGL from Ingress [WP2] to Egress [WP4] to escape detection. The compound is large enough that non-precision munitions may be utilized without endangering any surrounding civilian structures, therefore each aircraft will drop a string of high-drag Mk82s on [WP3].

From a low-level approach, visual recognition of the target structures will be tricky until the very last minute. Planning an AUTO delivery on WP3 in the Hornet will reduce the likelihood of last-minute maneuvering. Tomcats will need to utilize CCIP (pilot) bombing, but can use the red and white comms tower to assist in lining up for their attack.

Assuming enough aircraft are available, DEALER 1 and DEALER 2 will diverge after reaching a common [WP1] and proceed along two different routes to target. Each flight will have their own set of target buildings at WP3.

THREATS

No Mig Threat exists, we will ingress and egress before Syria has a chance to scramble any interceptors

No SAM threats exist along the route of flight, but AAA is plentiful in and around the target compound. Flying higher than 1,000’ AGL approaching or departing the target increases the risk of visual detection and engagement by AAA.

ROE

Weapons free- All Syrian targets may be engaged.
