Since v1.1; and unlike the Huey, in the UH-60 the engines must be at full speed (PCLs all the way forward) for the generators to provide electricity. You need to keep the APU on and the APU Generator switch on until the engines are at full power.

Conversely, and again unlike the Huey, when you land, if you pull the PCLs back, you will lose all electrical power immediately.
