Fence In/Out

by Hedgehog » Mon Dec 31, 2018 11:41 am

In squadron missions, the Mission Commander will commonly direct "Fence In" or "Fence Out."

In VFA-41;

Fence In = Weapons Hot (Master Arm ON) and Smash Dark (Navigation lights and strobe OFF. Formation lights, aka "slime lights" may remain on if needed.)

Fence Out = Weapons SAFE (Master Arm SAFE), lights to whatever state is appropriate for current conditions.

As this is a directive, all aircraft in the flight will acknowledge with flight number in order. For example;

"Flight, Fence In."
"Two"
"Three"
"Four"
