Rank Structure

Rank in VFA-41 primarily denotes recognition for accumulated active participation in F/A-18 missions, as well as qualifications achieved. Pilots who accomplish the requirements listed below will be promoted to that rank.

Pilot rank does not necessarily reflect authority. In flight, the assigned Mission Commander has immediate authority, as well as overall responsiblity for accomplishment of mission objectives. On the ground, squadron authority is commensurate with assigned Command & Support duties.
