Large Yacht Catches Fire In Russian Port

A large yacht was observed burning at a dock in the Russian port of Gelendzhik.  The port is widely believed to be a hub for illegal arms and drug smuggling activites, and seems to enjoy immunity from Russian law enforcement.  The ship is said by a local source to be the private yacht of a middle-eastern billionaire with suspected ties to several terrorist organizations.  No cause of the fire was reported, though witnesses claim to have heard two or three loud explosions, leading to speculation that the yacht itself may have been loaded with weapons of some sort.  NATO assets, including the USS John C. Stennis carrier battle group have been operating in the area to monitor and disrupt arms smuggling, though Pentagon sources declined to comment on whether any operations were on-going at the time.

VFA-41 Commissions Another Hornet Pilot

Following a long absence from the flight sim world, Nemo has found his way back to the F/A-18C Horent cockpit and applied to VFA-41 for basic training and qualification.  He also has been granted a commission at the rank of Ensign (ENS), and will begin his training just as soon as the XO is satisfied with the shine on his car.  (He likes two coats of wax!)
